Dr Innocent Musoni (Chief Casualty Officer)
Dr Musoni is a dedicated professional, who earned his medical degree from the University of Zimbabwe. He did his internship at Parirenyatwa group of hospitals. He has more than seven years’ experience in both public and private accident and emergency departments, focusing on initial resuscitation, stabilization, and treatment to acutely ill and injured patients, and delivery of those patients to the best available definitive care.
He has always loved reading from the age of 10 years. With his love for science, combined with his passion to alleviate pain and suffering in the human race, medicine has been a perfect blend for these interests. His passion for emergency medicine, comes from the reward of meeting patients daily in extraordinary medical events and changing the course of illness.
Dr Musoni’s passion for emergency medicine has led him to do a number of essential emergency medicine courses like:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Currently, he is studying towards a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with the University of Zimbabwe. Skills gained from MBA, help in optimizing healthcare service delivery by providing a customer centred service.
He has an interest in public health, which he believes has an impact on improving emergency medicine, in the areas of developing policies to protect and improve the public’s health, injuries and health risks and delivery of clinical preventive services.
He also has interests in HIV medicine, Geriatric medicine and Palliative Care.
Dr Fadzai Mushambi (Casualty Officer)
Dr Fadzai Mushambi is a registered General Practitioner with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (MDPCZ). She holds a Doctor in Medicine degree with the University of Algiers and has robust experience working in the Accidents and Emergencies department at both public tertiary health care facilities and private institutions.
Dr Mushambi is a seasoned medical doctor fluent in both English and French. She has an appetite for inclined knowledge, driven by passion and the moral imperative ethos of saving lives. She is a highly organised individual with exceptional clinical skills. She has proven abilities of working in multicultural and diverse settings and possesses excellent interpersonal skills.
Dr Mushambi is currently studying towards a Masters in International Public Health, a program that helps keep communities healthy, protect workers, prevent and address pandemics, pursue social justice, drive public policy, spearhead disaster relief and ensure healthcare access to individuals from all walks of life. She would love to specialize in Pediatric medicine in the near future. She published an article in the Journal of Infections in Developing Countries (JIDC) in 2021 on Post Exposure Prophylaxis in healthcare workers at a tertiary healthcare facility after sustaining an occupational injury.
In her free time, Dr Mushambi volunteers at the Adult Rape Clinic by providing initial medical care and subsequent evidence gathering, offering psycho-social support to survivors of Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV).
She enjoys travelling, shopping and spending time with her loved ones.
