Observation Rooms

Observation Rooms

Baines Intercare Medical Centre have within the facilities, observation rooms where patients are placed to be observed by the clinical team when they are not well enough to be discharged but do not meet the criteria to be admitted to an in-patient.

Observation rooms provide a safe and secure environment for patients who are in need of medical care but do not meet the criteria to be admitted to the hospital. Observation rooms have staff available to monitor patients’ health, administer treatments, and observe any changes or developments that could indicate worsening conditions. Observation rooms also allow the clinical teams to keep track of a patient’s condition, provide them with appropriate care and treatment, and keep the patient safe until they are well enough to be released. Observation rooms are an important part of ensuring the best possible health outcomes for patients who may not require hospital admission but still need attentive medical care. We have observation rooms dedicated to male and female patients, 4 beds for male and 8 beds for female patients.

Understanding Observation Status

Understanding the difference between inpatient and observation status can be confusing, but it’s important to know which one applies to you.

Observation

Inpatient status

Observation status

Short-term monitoring of patient's condition in hospital without overnight stay for close assessment of potential medical issues.
